I can't figure out how to join

All you have to do to get updates is to add your email to the newsletter box below.  In the newsletter, you'll be informed of future meetings and actions.  

It's not some fancy operation, so if you ever wish to unsubscribe, you may simple reply with "unsubscribe", you won't hurt our feelings :)

Due to the awesomeness of the site, it is required you use a Google account to show your support on our members list and post comments.  If you don't have a Google account, no worries.

What is the Free School

Similar to a Free Store where items are available for free, a free school offers knowledge and teaching for free.  Why should someone have to pay to learn when there are so many willing teachers around.  

Anyone is welcome to come to the free store to offer lessons of any kind to visitors.  Be it guitar lessons, poetry discussions, or DIY workshops, anything you'd like to teach is welcome at the venue.

When is the Free Store?

There will be an announcement this Wednesday or Thursday to an in-person meeting (if you cannot attend, meeting minutes will be sent out)  The Free Store up and running by late December or early January.

Who is behind all this?

The Free Store has no financial affiliations, however we are supported through the efforts of everyday people including participants of Food Not Bombs.

Where is the Omaha Free Store?

The Free Store project is still in embryonic stages.  We've successfully hosted one free store at the Spirit of Peace House, however, we'd like to use a more regular location.

If you have a business or property that could be used just once a month when not otherwise in use, please let us know!  While we'd like to keep this as free as possible, we would be willing to support the costs of your lease via optional donations.

Otherwise, we will be asking local churches for permission to use their space.  If you have any ideas of your own, feel free to post them in the shouts.
